Created in the 1970’s by Andrew Colaruotolo (Mr. C), from Gaeta Italy,Casa Larga continues to convey the love of wine and Italian heritage he shared with the world. His wife, children and grand children continue on his legacy as winery owners and operators. During your visit, make sure you ask about the world renowned Fiori Ice Wines; sweet dessert wines produced from grapes that are harvested while frozen. Fiori Vidal Ice Wine is Casa Larga’s star product. This wine received the trophy for “World’s Best Dessert Wine” from a 2008 London competition, and has placed New York on the map for these outstanding dessert wines. Fiori Vidal has also been recognized as “Best Wine in NY” with the 2005 Governor’s Cup, along with a variety of other national and international awards. Ask about Mrs. C’s favorite drink, the Italian Kiss. A little bit of our Fiori Champagne mixed with our Fiori Cabernet Franc Ice Wine. Bellissimo!
Casa Larga’s vineyard and winery sit upon 45 acres of land on a hillside in Fairport, a canal village just minutes from downtown Rochester and the New York State Thruway. The Wine Shop and Tasting Room in Fairport is open year ‘round for wine tasting and sales. Facility tours are also offered seasonally. Special events are hosted throughout the year, including the Purple Foot Grape Stomping Festival in September. Come visit us and experience an Italian way of life at Casa Larga!
