The Rockwell Museum

Travel without big expense and hassle -- it's the best kind of vacation! At the Rockwell Museum in Corning, New York, such "travel" can include maneuvering through time as well as space! Art can be both the vehicle and the tour guide for such "time-capsule" travel, transporting visitors to far-away places and long-ago times. Looking through artists' eyes, anyone can spend a day on the plains, get to know the customs and culture of a Native American tribe or discover the hardships of a cowboy's life. The Rockwell Museum offers these special "vacations" just down the road in Finger Lakes Wine Country. This summer is the perfect time to explore its treasures.

The American West Experience

The Rockwell Museum is an ‘unexpected immersion into the American West experience’ from the moment you enter.  The Museum is nationally recognized for its one-of-a-kind collection of Western and Native American art.  Famous western masterworks from favorites like Charlie Russell and Frederic Remington and contemporary new looks of the West round-out three full floors art through the eyes of over 200 artists.

Just for Families

Interested in a family activity that is out of the ordinary, enriching and fun?  What about taking a backpacking trip through the West? Through the Rockwell Museum, that is. Kids & teens are FREE (19 &under) and don’t forget about the ArtPacks just for kids. The Artpacks – backpacks filled with interesting information, creative activities, puzzles and games – are a young trailblazer’s guide to the Museum. They approach the Museum’s collection through four of the most enduring and appealing subjects of Western art: cowboys, Native Americans, wilderness and horse!   Best of all, they’re fun, and yes parents, educational too. The "Kids & Teens Free (19 & under)" promotion goes hand-in-hand with Kids & Teens Free at The Corning Museum of Glass.  Learn more.
