2012 Natural Wonders Photo Contest Winner

From Kristin's pen... "The most relaxing time in the Finger Lakes is the time spent near the water. I found myself sitting on the dock at the lake house where I was staying for the weekend with friends on a calm June morning after an evening rain. While everyone was still asleep, I grabbed my camera and made my way to the dock on Seneca Lake hoping for a colorful sunrise. There were no clouds when I first sat down but was willing to stick it out to watch a peaceful sunrise before everyone else began their morning. As the sun slowly began to rise, the clouds moved across the sky to give the view a more spectacular feeling of what was to come. With the waves breaking on shore as my background music, the sun poked out above the trees and shined on the wet dock and provided me with an amazing reward for spending a summer morning taking in the stillness of a gorgeous backdrop in Finger Lakes Wine Country."
