Grape Growing Tradition

Five generations of the Wagner family have grown grapes in the deep glacial soils on the eastern slopes of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. This heritage of grape growing has provided us with an intimate connection to the land. Since 1978, we have carried the same passion into the art of winemaking. Today, Wagner Vineyards is home to more than 250 acres of grapes.  Each day these vines are tended to and cared for by our vineyard team, led by John Wagner, owner of Wagner Vineyards.  

The Wagner philosophy has always been that great wines begin in the vineyard. The winery’s success can be attributed to the emphasis placed on quality control; from soil to wine, each step of the viticultural and winemaking processes are subject to strict standards of excellence.  Read more.

Tasting Room Experience

Wagner Vineyards is open daily, throughout the year, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  For $4 visitors can enjoy our monthly Featured Tasting or a Customer Choice tasting.

Our Featured Tasting changes each month and includes 8 wines that range from dry to sweet. The featured tasting does not include high-end reds or dessert wines.

The Customer Choice tasting includes four wines, of your choice, and includes our high-end reds and dessert wines. 

When you spend $20 or more in our retail store, your $4 tasting fee is refunded! This includes the purchase of six packs or growlers from Wagner Valley Brewing Co.    Learn more.

Beyond Wine

Wagner Vineyards is also home to Wagner Valley Brewing Co. Established in 1997, Wagner Valley Brewing Co. is a craft-brewing operation designed after a traditional German-style brew house.

At Wagner Valley Brewing Co. we follow the German Purity Law of 1516 that states, “Only the finest, Malt, Hops, Yeast, and Water can be used in the production of beer”, for each of our standard beers.

Visitors can enjoy a tasting of six handcrafted ales and lagers for $3. Wagner Valley Brewing is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Join the Wagners every Friday night from Memorial Day to Labor Day for live music for Friday Nights on the Brew Deck. Music starts at 8:00 p.m., but join us earlier to enjoy a fish or chicken dinner from 7:00-9:00 p.m. prepared by Chef Vachel Mitchell of The Ginny Lee Cafe.  Learn more.

Wine and Food

Founder Bill Wagner, who always believed that wine and food should be enjoyed together, established the Ginny Lee Cafe, located at Wagner Vineyards, in 1983. The Ginny Lee is named after Bill Wagner’s granddaughter, who now manages the cafe.  The Ginny Lee offers a wide variety of foods prepared fresh daily by Executive Chef Vachel Mitchell and offers a gorgeous view of the vineyards and Seneca Lake.   Read more.
