Marketing and Communications Internship – Winter 2013
Purpose of Position: Assist in the coordination of the regional marketing and public relations plans for Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism Marketing Association.
Immediate Supervisor: Marketing and Communications Manager
Assist the Association’s President and Marketing and Communications Managers in developing and implementing powerful marketing and communication programs to advance a positive image of the four county region there by driving the growth of tourism, overnight visitation, tax revenues, and jobs.
Requirements: Candidates for the position of Marketing and Communications Internship will have the following qualifications:
Undergraduate course work in marketing, communications, or liberal arts.
Possess excellent overall communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Demonstrate high levels of initiative and creativity.
Have an interest in a tourism marketing career.
Work with the President and the Marketing and Communications Managers with developing, implementing, and managing a fully integrated marketing and public relations program for the association.
Assist in managing timelines for the development of FLWC collateral materials, as well as FLWC promotional programs.
Monitor the effectiveness of all marketing and public relations campaigns.
To provide an intern with significant “real world” job experience that will help him or her qualify for a career in tourism marketing or public relations after graduation. To provide substantial work activities and projects that are consistent with those he or she would need to qualify for an entry-level professional position within Finger Lakes Wine Country.
Compensation: $125 per week stipend with relocation and housing expenses the sole responsibility of the candidate.
Total number of hours: The intern position is part-time, 20-30 hours for per week lasting twelve weeks (January – March.) .

The mission of the Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism Marketing Association is to promote economic development in Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, and Yates counties in the State of New York, and to improve the quality of life in those counties by supporting and improving the tourism industry.
