Fulkerson Winery is a family owned and operated winery and fresh grape juice plant in Dundee, NY in the heart of the Finger Lakes on the west side of Seneca Lake. They offer over 20 distinct wines, more than 30 varieties of fresh grape juice in the fall and a full line of home wine making and brewing supplies. Our unique tasting experiences make for a wonderful visit. Those wishing to view wine country from a different vantage point can now book a hot air balloon flight launching from right on the Fulkerson Winery property.
About
200+ Years of Family Tradition
Caleb Fulkerson first settled the land that Fulkerson Winery now occupies in 1805. The farm has remained in the Fulkerson family for all 200+ years, through six generations. Fulkerson Winery started as a juice plant in 1979, selling grape juice and wine making equipment to home wine makers, and joined the other Finger Lakes wineries in 1989. The Fulkerson family is extremely proud to continue the tradition of high quality grape growing and winemaking excellence.
Visitors can come home to the Fulkerson farm with a stay at The Farmhouse at Fulkerson Winery, a vacation rental home located just north of the winery. Originally built in 1856 by Jane Norman Fulkerson, the house has been completely updated and includes 4 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, a modern eat-in kitchen with microwave and gas range, HDTV with DVD player, and a large porch. Gorgeous views of Seneca Lake and the Fulkerson vineyards provide the perfect backdrop for your wine country stay.
Wines
Fulkerson Winery grows their award-winning wines on 106 acres of vineyards. The vineyards are a mix of well-known grapes and some lesser known varieties that have been introduced to the wine list. Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Noiret, Dornfelder, Vincent, Traminette, Niagara, Catawba and Himrod are just a handful of the varieties grown for wine production. There are also varieties grown exclusively for juice customers such as Leon Millot, DeChaunac, Concord, Aurora, Seyval, and Chancellor to name a few.
Tasting Experiences, Hot Air Balloon Flights, and Hours
Fulkerson Winery is pleased to offer four distinct tasting experiences: standard tastings, group tastings, private tastings featuring wine and food pairings, and vineyard tours. Imagine soaring peacefully over Seneca Lake and soaking in the beauty of the vineyard-covered countryside. Fulkerson Winery has partnered with Liberty Balloon Company to offer hot air balloon rides to our visitors. Come fly with us and make this dream a reality! You will launch from a site on the Fulkerson Winery property overlooking Seneca Lake and enjoy your ride where the wind takes you. A vehicle will be waiting to pick you up where you land and bring you back to the launch site. This means all you have to do is sit back, get your camera ready, and enjoy the ride. Winery Hours:
November through July: Open daily 10 a.m. to 5p.m.
July and August: Open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
September and October: Open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fulkerson is closed on New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
